Algamdulilah another Ramadaan has come our way. We did our (the whole family - Mom(71), Aneeqah(21), Rizqah(17), Nuhaa(11) and Myself(47) and of course the Amir in the house-Shafiek(50)taraaweeg in our new masjied - Sulaimani Masjied which was a church previously and now converted into a masjied, Algamdulilah.
We were very impressed with the way the masjied looked. There were no traces of it being a church. We got there quite early so we did get a good spot. The ladies section is quite small but Algamdulilah there is always place for everyone.
Its so nice and I make Shukr ya Allah that my girls are all grown up and I can freely attend the masjied again. Even though I always wanted to attend when they were little I never did for fear of being a disturbance to the other musallalis. Case in point.. I do admire people for wanting to bring there kids with but it should not be a disturbance. I feel ( and this is only my opinion) that its best to rather to do your abidat at home when your kids are little. They do not understand that they are not allowed to make a noise or run around and we cant expect them to not be babies/toddlers when they are in a masjied. They will eventually learn if you make salaah with them always around you what the etiquette is, InshaaAllah.
We finished quite late 21h20. On getting home the table was set for Suhr and everyone gave their orders for breakfast! And this was the menu:
Mom - Oats/coffee/toasted cheese & tomotoe ( she is generally very easy)
Shafiek - Semolina/coffee/sandwich with liver and onions/toasted cheese(mature) and tomatoe with onion and chillies
Aneeqah - Cornflakes/tea/toasted cheese(cheddar) with tomatoe/onion/chillies
Rizqah - Semolina/coffee/toasted cheese with tomatoe
Nuhaa - Coco pop/hotchocolate/toasted cheese with no tomatoe
Me - also very easy - semolina/coffee/ toasted cheese from whatever was left.
And we all have a glass of water..
We as a family have decided to do a gatam ul Quraan between us, InshaaAllah
Lets see what today (1st) holds. May Allah be pleased with us, InshaaAllah
